As December is nearly here, it’s time to start thinking about what you want to buy your nearest and dearest for Christmas. Or panic about what you can possibly buy for £5 for the work Secret Santa. So I’ve put together a North Hertfordshire Independent Christmas Gift Guide.
By using this, you can buy two presents, for one! Amazing. Because for every gift you buy from an independent, someone does a happy dance, someone feels successful, fulfilled and able to carry on with their business.
It’s the perfect present.
This blog has been inspired by the recent Just A Card campaign. Check out at www.justacard.org to find out more.
For The House Proud One – Joules etc
Joules etc really is little haven in the Wynd, Letchworth. There are so many things to choose from in here. From mugs, place mats, notepads, signs and much more. You’ll be in here a while.
For The Creative One – Book or Album from David’s
I’m pretty sure if you’re local to Letchworth, you’ll know David’s. But there’s too much good stuff not to mention. Whether your vice is music or reading, you’ll find plenty of potential gifts here (and probably come away with something for yourself too!)
For The One Who Likes A Pamper – Revive
Lauren and Sami offer manicures, waxing, facials and many other beauty treatments. They are offering a great deal on their gift vouchers at the moment, if you’re not quite sure what the recipient will enjoy the most!
For The Local Champion – Discover Letchworth or The Art Nest
I can’t be the only one to be proud of where I live! I think these are amazing gifts. The Letchworth merchandise has been designed by Vanessa Stone and the Hitchin merchandise has been designed by Emmeline Webb (The Art Nest). Amazing talent!
For The Little One In Your Life – Tutti Frutti Clothing
These photos were taken in Abi’s recent pop up shop in Letchworth, which may have disappeared by the time you read this. Rest assured, you can still find her online so beautiful handmade colourful children’s clothing!
For The One Who Appreciates Good Art – Digswell Arts and The Wynd Gallery
We’re very lucky to have these two wonderful places that showcase Hertfordshire artists. Keep a look out for Digswell Arts open studios and workshops or check out some of the amazing work in the Wynd Gallery. They offer gift vouchers too!
For The Coffee Snob – Hitchin Coffee Lab
When I spoke to them they were keen to go through and explain the different types of coffee and how they can prepare it for you. Really helpful if you’re not quite sure what you want. (Excuse the green drink the middle, I’m a little partial to a matcha latte myself!)
For The One Who Has Everything OR Your Secret Santa – Donate to a local charity
Inspired by my local freelancer group where it was suggested we donate rather than do Secret Santa. There’s lots of wonderful local charities who could benefit from your help. A great gift.
For The Special one – Wilde Jewellery or Jewellery Box
Wilde is based in Hitchin and Jewellery Box in Letchworth. Both have some wonderful items and are always happy to help you find that special piece.
For The One Who Loves Their Garden – Bickerdikes
My favourite garden centre, based in Letchworth, where you can always find some treats. They are very knowledgeable and helpful so you know what you are buying. If gardening isn’t their thing, the Christmas selection here is incredible.
For The Drinks Connoisseur – The Beer Shop
Look at that selection! Lots of local beers and smart carry cases mean this makes the perfect gift. Based in Hitchin.
For The Ambitious One – Start up with Sophie Business Programme with me!
I know, it’s a bit cheeky to include myself BUT if you’re looking for something really special for someone who has always had that dream but no idea how to make it a reality, get in touch.
If you buy anything from my North Hertfordshire Independent Christmas Gift Guide, do let me know!
Supporting the small, independent businesses close to you is really important all of the year round. Angela Chick has done some incredible illustrations to remind us of this!
